Assistant Manager – Audit & Assurance

- A crucial leadership role that reports to his line Manager with the day-to-day fieldwork team. As the primary onsite leader at the client's office, you will manage the daily operations of the audit, guide the junior team, and serve as the main point of contact for the client’s finance department. You will manage multiple audit projects from the planning phase all the way through to the final audit report in accordance with International Standards and BDO Audit Methodology.
- Serve as the primary leader at the client’s office, creating a positive, focused, and professional environment in the audit room.
- Champion the use of audit tools & analytics, utilize advanced capabilities of audit technology tools to meet engagement objectives and enhance service delivery
- Guide & review the work of Audit Seniors and Auditors on the spot, providing immediate feedback and training to help them improve and advance.
- Run daily team check-ins to assign tasks, clear roadblocks, and act as a buffer so the team can focus on their work without unnecessary client distractions.
- Manage the team's workload and hours during busy periods, ensuring they have the resources they need to meet deadlines while preventing burnout.
- Monitor team’s work to ensure it is consistent with the firm’s quality standards and audit approach while identifying gaps & training needs.
- Demonstrate project management skills and effectively manage their own time across different engagements
- Reporting to the engagement manager for day to day client contact and conduct of audit work
- To assist manager in reviewing the audit work as well as financial statements for smaller entities within a Group
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Related Field.
- Active Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA, ACA, or ACCA)
- 5 - 6 years of Post Qualification Experience including time spent as a Senior auditor or Acting Assistant Manager at a large international accounting firm.
- Proven ability to manage, organize, and motivate a team physically onsite. Strong communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations
- Strong understanding of IFRS and ISA (knowledge of AOIFI, Commercial Companies Law and other relevant regulations would be an advantage)
- Well versed with various accounting software and applications used by different industry sectors.
